Easy Refreshing Frozen Limes & Lemons
When you have access to a lemon tree or limes that are going to waste, here's our favourite way to make the most of these delicious citrus fruits!
You may have friends who juice each lime or lemon and pour the juice into ice cube trays to freeze before popping them into Kai Carrier bags for easy freezer-proof storage. That's a great technique and ensures that you have lime juice or lemon juice on hand for icing, salad dressings or marinades all year around.
But if you're more of a G&T Queen, or you love baking citrus tarts or inventions like this upside-down citrus cake (!), or maybe you like making chicken tagine, fish dishes, or roasted chicken with lemon... you need wedges or slices to make your magic.
Here's the secret - there is no secret!
Make sure your limes or lemons are clean (wash store bought fruit) then slice to your preferred shape - wedges for gin and tonic, thin slices for topping baking, thick full circle slices for tagines, fish and chicken dishes - and pop into Kai Carrier bags ready for the freezer. No BPA, no freezer burn, no excess ice - just ready to use citrus any time of year.
You're welcome! Enjoy.
